Case Studies
Real work, real outcomes
From building security programs that enable national partnerships to founding products that get acquired — here's what our engineers have done.
Case Study
From founding engineer to acquisition
Client
Breez Security
Sector
Identity security (ITDR)
Engagement
Founding engineer + security
Outcome
Acquired by JumpCloud (Oct 2025)
The Challenge
Breez Security set out to solve a hard problem in identity security: accurately tracing and attributing cloud actions to their originating parties — including cross-account scenarios. As an early-stage startup building an Identity Threat Detection, Investigation and Response (ITDR) platform, they needed engineers who could build the product from zero while simultaneously standing up the company's own security posture.
What We Did
Oblak Solutions engineers were founding team members — building the core product and managing security:
- 1Founding engineer; led the product from inception through Seed-round funding.
- 2Architected and built a novel identity-attribution system in AWS that links user actions to specific identities, including cross-account scenarios — the first product to accurately trace and attribute cloud actions to their originating parties.
- 3Partnered with product and engineering to define requirements, design scalable solutions, and integrate the system; drove testing, optimization, and technical decision-making.
- 4Managed the company's security program alongside product engineering — securing the platform while building it.
The Outcome
In October 2025, JumpCloud acquired Breez Security to accelerate its security roadmap and enhance its Identity Threat Detection and Response capabilities. JumpCloud's CTO called the Breez team "some of the most brilliant and forward-thinking minds in identity security." The identity-attribution system our engineers architected and built became a key part of the acquisition value.
Highlights
Acquired
By JumpCloud, October 2025
Founding
Engineer from inception through Seed round
First
Product to accurately attribute cross-account cloud actions to identities
Dual role
Built the product and managed the security program
Bottom line
Oblak engineers built the core product that led to a successful acquisition by JumpCloud — while simultaneously running the company's security. That's the depth of talent we embed with every client.
Case Study
From startup to national scale
Client
K-8 literacy ed-tech (nonprofit)
Sector
K-8 education technology
Engagement
3-year managed program
Team
4-engineer embedded team
The Challenge
A breakthrough digital reading tool used in pilots with 50,000 K-8 students — a population of minors whose data carries the strictest privacy obligations in the sector (FERPA, COPPA, and state laws such as SOPIPA). As a fast-moving nonprofit, the client needed an in-house security function, yet faced district procurement reviews, data-protection agreements, and the security due diligence that any serious strategic partner would demand. They needed a complete security program — not a single hire.
What We Did
Oblak Solutions embedded a four-engineer security team and ran the entire program end to end:
- 1Application security: SAST and SCA pipelines integrated into CI/CD to catch vulnerabilities before release.
- 2Threat modeling: systematic review of the product and data flows handling children's literacy data.
- 3Logging & detection: centralized logging pipelines for monitoring, audit, and incident evidence.
- 4Incident response: IR planning, runbooks, and readiness aligned to breach-notification timelines.
- 5IT & security operations: hardened internal systems, access control, and vendor/data governance.
- 6Compliance posture: security practices mapped to FERPA, COPPA, and state student-privacy requirements.
The Outcome
The client announced a partnership with a leading curriculum provider serving 4.8 million students — embedding their reading tool across K-8 English Language Arts. A partnership at that scale only proceeds on a foundation of demonstrable security and data-protection maturity. The program Oblak Solutions built carried the client from early pilots through national scale, with its security posture standing up to the scrutiny that comes with it.

Bottom line
A full, senior security team — application security, compliance, and incident response — at a fraction of the cost of building one in-house, and a posture strong enough to win district deals and survive partner due diligence.
